Unforgettable trips abroad
Our international trips abroad are a key part of what makes our student experience stand out. At Strode College, we have expert knowledge of the Turing Scheme, a government-funded initiative that allows students to take part in meaningful projects and cultural experiences across the globe.
Thanks to this funding, many of our trips abroad are fully or partially funded, making them far more accessible.
Students have been able to take part in trips to some of the world’s most exciting destinations, including:
Creative Arts students explored world-famous creative and media industries in New York and LA.
Sports students delivered coaching sessions to children in township schools.
Hair and Beauty students took part in a cultural exchange and discovered new techniques.
Students worked alongside their Norwegian peers and participated in community regeneration projects.
University Centre Somerset students volunteered with the charity United Through Sport in a once-in-a-lifetime trip to the Caribbean island.
A Level students enjoyed Barcelona’s diverse linguistic environment, and Foundation Learning students visited Bilbao for their first mobility project.
Students were hosted at the International School of Florence to encourage healthy living for junior school students.
T Level Health learners spent a fortnight in Hanoi, volunteering and supporting residents who have disabilities.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Turing Scheme is the UK’s global programme for studying, working and living abroad, offering once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for personal and professional development for students.
We offer a wide range of trips, some of which are fully-funded by schemes such as the Turing Scheme, whilst others are not.
We always try to ensure affordability, and provide avenues for students to explore fundraising and/or access to government supported schemes.
Often, we offer payment plans to help break down costs when they are necessary.

You’ll find sports’ teams, academies, the Students’ Union and trips and visits, to name a few.
A Level students can expect a bespoke enrichment programme to support their studies.
There are no tuition fees for students under the age of 19. However, there may be costs incurred for resources, lockers, kit, uniform, equipment and trips (payable on enrolment).
Any cost information will be relayed to you and your young person during the application process.

With priority access given to students studying a land-based course, a specialist subject, or a Higher Education programme, our halls of residence at Taunton and Cannington provide a welcoming home.
