Course Overview

This one-year course and will support your progression to the Level 3 in Barbering or employment, especially if you have an interest in male grooming and the barbering industry.

This course will be delivered in our Barbering training salon along with a classroom-based session. Work experience is recommended alongside this course.

Topics may include:

  • Cutting men’s hair
  • Cutting men’s facial hair
  • Creating lines and patterns
  • Drying and styling men’s hair
  • Consultation, advice and aftercare.

Please note: trips may incur additional costs. Kit and uniform top are included in the course costs.

Assessment Methods

Underpinning knowledge for this course is assessed through a series of online multiple choice tests.

Practical elements will be assessed on an individual level through observation of skills on clientele.

Progression Options

You could progress to a Level 3 in Barbering.

Entry Requirements

5 GCSEs in the 9 to 3 range is desirable. Entry is also subject to a successful interview and induction.

You will need to demonstrate passion and interest in the Barbering sector, as well as a positive and professional attitude to learning.
