You will work with your employer to support and engage with different parts of the organisation and interact with internal and external customers. With a focus on adding value, the role of business administrator contributes to the efficiency of an organisation, through support of functional areas, working across teams and resolving issues as requested. The flexibility and responsiveness required allows you to develop a wide range of knowledge, skills and behaviours in areas such as:

You can gain employment in any administrative function within any organisation as long as the job role gives you the opportunity to work towards the knowledge, skills and behaviours elements of the apprenticeship standard. Assessment Methods

The on-programme element of the apprenticeship includes building an online portfolio to evidence the knowledge, skills and behaviours you gain throughout your apprenticeship. The on-programme assessment includes:

  • Workplace assessment
  • Knowledge delivery

Following this, your assessor, employer and you decide when you are ready to undertake the ‘End Point Assessment’ which includes:

  • Online knowledge test
  • Portfolio-based interview
  • Project/improvement presentation

Progression Options

On successful completion of your apprenticeship you could be offered a permanent contract with their employer and work towards possible careers in management or a senior support role.

You must gain employment with an employer committed to the values of an apprenticeship and sit a successful interview with an Apprenticeship Recruitment Advisor at the College.
