If you are interested in a career in software development, systems support, IT security, management, accounting or finance, then this one-year course may be for you.

You will learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations and activities.

Topics may include:

  • Communication skills
  • Understanding business organisations
  • Creating business web pages
  • Business project
  • Online business activities
  • Digital skills for work
  • Market research
  • Working in business teams
  • Understanding finance in a business context.

Assesment Methods

You will be continuously assessed as you develop a portfolio of evidence. The evidence may include written assignments, minutes of meetings, discussions, presentations, practical demonstrations, and things you have made.

You will be awarded a Gateway Qualifications Level 2 Diploma in Business. You will also be expected to complete work experience in a relevant industry placement.

Progression Options

On successful completion of this course, you could progress to either a Digital or a Business T Level, or start an exciting career as an apprentice with one of the many employers we work with.

Alternatively, may put your skills to use by moving directly in to employment.

Entry Requirements

You need five GCSEs in the 9 to 3 range, including maths and English, or a relevant Level 1 qualification with a Merit profile.
