Course Overview
The Level 3 Hairdressing advanced qualification with give you the skills to work within the industry at an advanced level using the latest techniques and skills to produce the latest trends.
This is a part-time course for adult learners.
Topics may include:
- Advanced creative colouring
- Colour correction
- Creative cutting
- Monitoring health and safety
- Consultation
- Bridal
- Creative styling
- Creative image
- Perming.
Please note: Kit and uniform are included within the course cost.
Assessment Methods
Assessment is through practical observation and online examinations.
Progression Options
This course can lead you into the hairdressing industry as a hairdressing stylist or as a freelance hairdresser. Those wishing to further their career can advance onto a management course, university or salon management.
This course will provide you with advanced techniques as a stylist allowing you to work at a creative level.
Entry Requirements
You will need a Level 2 Hairdressing qualification. 5 GCSEs at a grade 3 or above are desirable but not essential.

All students have the opportunity to meet with a Careers Advisor for 1:1 career support.
The Student Experience Team can mentor and signpost students who are struggling with a range of issues that are negatively impacting their day-to-day life. The Student Experience Team works closely with the Safeguarding & Lifestyle Teams to promote proactive wellbeing enrichment sessions. The team can refer on to counselling when appropriate.

All of our students will have a personal tutor to support them with their academic progress and personal development. The tutorial programme consists of 1:1 support, group tutorials and guest speakers, plus targeted online resources which complement the UCS College Group Advantage scheme.
