The Health T Level gives you the opportunity to study one of two occupational specialisms: Adult Nursing or Midwifery. The course consists of a range of core modules with two exams, a 45-day industry placement, completion of an Employer Set Project and occupational specialism assignments, providing you with a wide range of skills for working in industry.

  • Health, safety, and environmental regulations in the health and science sector
  • Managing information and data
  • Good scientific and clinical practice
  • Health and wellbeing
  • Providing person-centred care
  • Infection prevention and control
  • Safeguarding
  • Core science concepts, including anatomy and physiology.

Assesment Methods

The core knowledge and skills will be assessed through two examinations and a practical employer-set project at the end of the first year.

In the second year, students are assessed through a combination of written and practical assessments, and a reflective practice discussion. In addition to this, maths, English and digital skills will be integrated within the qualification in occupationally relevant contexts.

Progression Options

This is a two-year, full-time course that is equivalent to three A Levels and designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge to work in the health and social care sector or progress to an apprenticeship to gain further skills.

T Levels are allocated UCAS points which enables students to go on and study a health and social care related degree at university or a degree apprenticeship.

Progression opportunities for T Level students have included employment as healthcare assistants within the NHS Foundation Trust and care workers in residential homes.

Progression to University has included degrees in midwifery, paediatric, and adult nursing, occupational therapy, radiography, and paramedic sciences.

Entry Requirements

You will need 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 and above, including maths, English and science.

For students who do not achieve these grades, there is the option of completing a Level 2 T Level Foundation course. This will give you the opportunity to improve your maths and English skills, and you will gain some further scientific knowledge alongside IT literacy and employability skills.
