Course Overview

Please note: you will make your selection of three A Levels once you have progressed into the application process.

Psychology is the scientific study of the human mind and behaviour: how we think, feel and act individually and in groups. You will consider a range of biological and psychological theories and the research that supports them.

By the end of the course, you will be able to answer questions like: why do we not say what we really think when we are in a group? If you have witnessed a crime, why might you not be a very good witness? What causes mental disorders and how can we treat them?

You will have the opportunity to attend a neuroscience workshop, participate in national psychology competitions, gain knowledge from local drug and alcohol rehabilitation centres. We invite people from industry to come and inform our students about different career pathways.

Topics may include:

  • Memory
  • Biopsychology
  • Aggression
  • Schizophenia
