Course Overview

This programme is aimed at young people aged 16-18, or up to 24 with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), who require a responsive learning setting to support their social, emotional and behaviour needs in order to learn and thrive in a college environment.

This course is designed to develop your confidence, self-esteem and resilience before moving on to other courses in education or training.

You will be able to work towards a qualification at Award, Certificate, or Diploma level in Employability Skills as well as continuing your studies in English and maths. The course is designed to develop your skills in employability, independent living, healthier lifestyles, and communication. It includes a comprehensive tutorial programme, digital skills, and enrichment.

Assessment Methods

You will be regularly assessed on assignment work in the classroom, and at your own pace.

Progression Options

This course aims to support studetns who have additional needs with the Social and Emotional aspects of learning. By working within a framework, and with support from your tutor, you will experience a learning programme that meets your aspirations and needs.

Many students progress to a range of Level 1 programmes, whether academic or vocational. Alternatively, you may wish to apply for a Supported Internship. Your personal tutor will support you to make the right choice for you.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course, but all students will attend an assessment interview to ensure they are placed at the right level.
