Learners completing a qualification in Travel and Tourism will be aiming to go on to employment, often via the stepping stone of higher education. This is a full-time course to support learners who want to study travel and tourism as the main focus of a two-year, full-time study programme. The qualification would support progression to higher education in its own right and carries UCAS Points.

The travel and tourism industry in the UK is growing and is of major importance to the economy. Learners will develop the skills needed to examine, interpret, and analyse a variety of statistics that measure the importance of tourism to the UK. The course also includes two weeks of work experience.

Assesment Methods

This course is assessed by a range of internal and external assessments in the form of assignment based work and exams. Assignments are set and marked internally by Strode College staff and then validated by an external moderator.

You will also be expected to complete work experience in a relevant industry placement.

Progression Options

This qualification is equivalent to three A Levels and successful completion will enable progression into higher education as well as industry.

Learners can progress into a university level course, an apprenticeship or move directly into employment.

The variety of units studied during this qualification can be applied to many chosen careers and will open many doors. The practical experience you gain will prepare and equip you for work and life. Recent students have gone on to work for global travel brands along with airlines and cruise lines.

Entry Requirements

You will need four GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English Language and maths.
