Course Overview

Have you always wanted to try pottery but didn’t know where to start? This welcoming course is designed specifically for complete beginners who want to explore the magic of clay.

We will take you step-by-step through the fundamentals of making simple, beautiful structures and decorating them. You’ll learn the core techniques of slab rolling and coiling, before moving all the way through to the final firing and glazing process. It’s a highly rewarding, stress-relieving experience. Students who choose to stay with us for multiple terms are amazed at how quickly their skills develop, soon finding themselves capable of creating impressive, complex items.

  • Slab rolling and construction

There are no formal assessments for this course, but you will receive step-by-step tutor support in a fun, relaxed environment.

Progression Options

You could progress onto our general Pottery mixed-level class or try your hand at the wheel in Thrown Pottery once you’ve mastered the basics.
