This qualification covers a range of complex accounting tasks. You will learn and master financial processes, including accounting principles and concepts, preparing financial concepts, management accounting, tax processes and business awareness.

Topics may include:

  • Financial Accounting: Preparing financial statements
  • Management accounting techniques
  • Tax processes for businesses
  • Business awareness.

You will also develop business communications and lifelong learning skills, applying what you learn on the course to the wider industry context.

Assessment Methods

This course is assessed through computer-based exams and a synoptic assessment, which draws on and assesses knowledge and understanding from across the qualification.

Progression Options

On successful completion of this course, you can progress to the AAT Level 4 Professional Diploma in Professional Accounting.

Entry Requirements

Basic bookkeeping skills and knowledge are expected and you should also have basic IT skills, especially Microsoft Excel. You can enter directly at level 3 if you have a GCSE or A Level in Accounts, a Level 3 qualification or higher, or have worked in an accounts environment.

Entry is subject to a successful interview.
