Assessment Methods
Assessment within the Level 2 Beauty Therapist Apprenticeship includes ongoing and final evaluations to confirm competence. Throughout the programme, apprentices are assessed through practical observations, professional discussions, and the completion of a portfolio of evidence demonstrating skills, knowledge and behaviours. Knowledge checks may also be used to support learning in areas such as client consultation, skin care and health and safety.
The programme concludes with an independent End-Point Assessment (EPA), which typically involves a practical observation delivering beauty treatments and a professional discussion supported by the portfolio.
Progression Options
After completing the Level 2 Beauty Therapist Apprenticeship, learners can progress into a range of destinations within the beauty industry. Many choose to move directly into Beauty Therapist or Junior Therapist roles, gaining experience in a salon, spa or clinic environment. A key progression route is the Level 3 Advanced Beauty Therapist Apprenticeship, which develops more advanced facial, body and electrical treatment skills.
Learners may also specialise through additional qualifications or short courses such as Level 3 Massage Therapy, Advanced Facial and Skin Treatments, Nail Technology, Lash and Brow Treatments, or Holistic Therapies. With experience, progression into senior therapist, salon supervisor or spa management roles is possible.
